Paradox Online: My Corner of the Web

I'm TheParadoxBox, a person on the Internet, and this is my website. I like to program, make and listen to music, play video games, act in plays, and snowmobile. Here you'll find my projects, socials, personal blog and anything about myself or my interests that I thought were notable enough to put on a website.

Paradox Online is updated with new content every once in a while. Be sure to check back for new stuff.

Changelog

2023-9-24: Fall Cleaning

I'm still alive, everybody. To prove it, I've done some housekeeping on the technical side; I removed an extra space on the blog post and some unused fonts from the Sofa Savvy website, as well as updating my Twitter link to link to my new account name. A display bug with the social links on small screens was also fixed.

New blog posts may or may not be coming. What's not coming, though, is dark/light mode, because to use it, I would havw to store A SINGLE COOKIE on your computer. Disgusting. This website will remain cookie-free as long as I maintain it. This is fine because the site is already a nice neutral gray. I may, however, change the color scheme to one I created based on the cover art for Megadeth's Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?, which I have uncreatively called Peace Sells.

2023-3-29: Highlight Hijinks

Due to a problem with the CSS changes yesterday, Highlights was all sorts of goofy. I fixed it, though. You might notice that the sidebar is smaller; this is a side effect of those changes (it shrinks to minimum width now), but I like it better this way.

2023-3-28.2: Big Beautiful Buttons

Small change: the social media links are now nice buttons. That's all for now!

2023-3-28.1: Spring Cleaning

Happy spring, everybody! I've made some big changes to the site, some immediately visible, some technical. Here's the full list of changes:

  • Pages has been removed and replaced with the Dump. I realized I'm probably not going to be making "large-scale write-ups" very often, but I need to host things online pretty often, so this is a better solution.
    • I also added an econ project of mine to the Dump since I needed to host it somewhere to present it.
    • Site hierarchy has been changed a little as part of this.
  • The CSS files have been changed to only use flexboxes (the BEST CSS feature) for layout. Sorry, IE <11 users; update your browser.

The blog post about FRC has been postponed due to my team winning the UNH district competition and going to the regional championship in Springfield, Mass. I'll keep you updated on how we do!

2023-3-11: More Than Robots

Nothing huge today; the highlight about FIRST Robotics is up now. Most parts of the website also have support for Firefox's reader view and others that implement Readability. Some typos were also fixed in the FRC manual summary and the Pages index's footer was changed a bit. Finally, I removed that atrocious joke from the last changelog entry and replaced it with a much better one. If you really like to feel unnecessary amounts of pain, you can look through the commit history of this website on GitHub and see the old title for yourself, but I don't recommend it. Next up on the update list: a blog post about my FRC season this year and maybe also support for light/dark mode.

2023-1-7: The Walls of Text Update

Paradox Online now has a new section: Pages! Paradox Online: Pages is the home for large-scale write-ups and such on this website. If you're into it, check out my first section: an abbreviated version of FIRST Robotics Competition's 2023 manual. Expect a Highlight about FRC eventually, too.

2022-12-16: Liftoff

Paradox Online is officially, well, online! This initial release includes the home page, one blog entry, a new highlight, and an About section that tells you why MIT-0 is awesome. Go check it out!
